Identification of a dangerous clinging insect infesting..please help!!?
The room of my mother is starting to show signs of serious infestation about this weird worm. It makes a cocoon-like structure as its home. The shape of its home is elliptical with irregular grooves and is about 3-5cm long and 1cm or less in width. It has a worm like insect inside this cocoon-like structure. This insect, once it enters your ears will lay their eggs and could cause very serious, if not fatal, effects to the host.
Please help me identify it so that I can look for preventive measures.
Thanks.
the only thing that comes close to mind would be the larval stage of a type of clothes moth (case-bearing or case making moth) their cocoon size would be maybe a cm wide but doubtful more than 2 cm long... there will be no ear entry and what ever brain material inside will be safe
