How to identify and get rid of household bugs?

I live in Toronto, Canada and these bugs (don't know what they are) come out by the dozens every night at my house, and seem to escape into walls.
They're about 1.5-2cm long and have a greenish tint. Help?
Here's a crappy illustration: img32.imageshack[dot]us/img32/8220/buggerm[dot]png
Replace [dot] with .
Thanks, Yahoo answers

You have silverfish (order Thysanura). These aren't the worst pests you can have, but they still merit concern. They eat almost anything, including the glue that binds book pages together. You need to look around in your closets or wherever you keep your stuff and try to find where they are coming from. Look in your kitchen, too. If you find a concentration of them, you'll know what to throw out or bag up and mothball.
