Anyone know how to keep a bird from coming to your window?

It's always the same bird same window same time of day and every day. It comes to my daughters window at about 8 a.m. and pecks at it until it wakes her up then it flies away till the next day. Opening or banging at the window doesnt scare it doesnt do anything. I dont want to kill it but if I cant find a way to get it to stop it has to die. So all you P.E.T.A. members and bird lovers out there if you wanna save a birds life give me some ideas.

P.E.T.A, I do not kill innocent animals or condone killing animals. The thing is if you have a pest in your house like a fly or a mouse you kill it. This is outside but its being a bigger pest than any fly or mouse could be.

This is very common....it is breeding season and birds get very territorial at this time. This bird is seeing it's own reflection and thinks it is another bird invading it's territory. You need to do something to your windows to lessen the reflectivity. Here is a site with some good ideas. Also, if you were not aware...it is illegal to harass, harm, injure, or kill ANY native bird. They are protected by law.
