Their strengths that make them so powerful against the pests also render them as dangerous due to certain associated side effects. The poison in them acts on all beings, good and bad, alike. The system of chemical pest control has stopped harmful pests but they have also caused extinction of several harmless species of insects like butterflies and bees from our planet.
Chemical pest control has undergone several regulatory amendments over the last few decades and the kind of pesticide that are allowed in the current markets are much safer when used as per the instructions they come with. The amount of application required and the maximum needed frequency of applications are strictly mentioned on every pesticide covering. Detailed instructions regarding their handling and disposal are also made mandatory. Many pesticide manufacturers are now producing pesticides that are environment friendly and non-hazardous for humans and animals.
Chemical pest control has been revolutionized to a great extent and it can be well used for lawn care and gardening purposes as well as for domestic pest control. However, even today, for plantation crops and agriculture, organic pest control measures are considered as a wholesome method.
