I have seen ads for Pest Control Plug-in for you house that keeps rodents and bugs away by Ultrasonic sound technology. Does it really work?
Yes, and I will swear by them, but not every one is the same. I had to go through several makes and models to find ones that work as they should. The ones that claim to use your houses circuitry to transmit the ultrasonic signal are absolute junk.
I live in an old apartment (50+ years old), and though its kept very clean there are the few rodents problems in the ground floor units (thankfully I live in the penthouse), and with kids and pets around, I didn't want to use sprays and tablets.
Just because one doesn't work, it doesn't mean they all don't work. They work directionally only. Meaning the direction the emitter faces, is the area it will cover. The particular models I use transmit both a rodent and pest frequency every other cycle. When using them for the first time, open and leave open doors and cupboards of the areas you wish to protect. It will take upto 2 weeks for you to notice any change.
When my first one died (each one lasts for 5 years when left plugged in all the time), almost immediately pests began to appear on the surfaces of my kitchen. I was mortified, and began scouring the net to find them again. I found two models, one is the same one I had from 5 years ago, but the company was bought out by another company, and another model from Bell & Howell, which had a convient built-in recepticle, but unfortunately because I purchased them from a liquidators, they no longer support or make these models.
The models I have I bought from Koolatron. It was a 3pk and because I am in Canada, shipping was available for this model, but I just checked their site again, and this model isn't available for shipping to Canada anymore, incase you are in Canada.
