Organic pest control?

I am moving into a new apartment complex in the country that doesn't offer extermination, which I'm actually glad about because I don't like being exposed to those chemicals on a weekly basis (mainly because I'm pregnant). I would like to start my own preventative organic pest control plan but don't know where to begin. There aren't any companies in the area that can do this. What do I need to do and how often? In this area, I'm mainly going to be concerned about roaches and ants, and also ticks and fleas (because it's the woods and I have dogs, who are on Frontline but the bugs can still get on their fur.)

Thanks!

Keep borax handy to fight any fleas that might make their way into your carpeting. Sprinkle the borax onto the carpet and work it in. Leave it there for 24 hours then vacuum and throw out the vacuum bag.

I buy the Bioganic brand of organic pest powder and spray. The powder is awesome! It's made from cloves and I use it in my pantry. It's even food safe! :) They also make an insect spray that should control any stray roaches and ants. It takes a little longer to kill the critters than chemical spray but it does work. I buy it at Lowes.

I haven't tried this brand, but it might work for you.

Good luck!
