How do I get pests out of the soil of my indoor pothos plant?

There seem to be mites hiding in the soil of my pothos plant.

I heard something about neem oil or dish detergent...
So how do you use dish soap? just pour it in the soil?
Very confused...
Because this is my school project and I don't want it to die =[, Those evil things killed 5 of my leaves.

Well would palmolive work?

(Does anyone know where to get this in Canada, Toronto?)

I heard the Garden Safe one uses neem oil and is very good for the plant. It makes the pests die but not harm the plant. But I don't know where to buy it in Toronto.

One part dish liquid and three parts water spray all parts of the plant and under the leaves and around the stems,Then wait for a day then I would re pot the plant in new soil.Wash off the dish water first ,then plant to be sure you have gotten them all.

Plant Pests Identification

I'm looking for an open source pictorial catalog of (seedling to plant identification) and garden pests?

If you know of any I would be happy to see them, I often times find myself struggleing to find out harmful from benificial insects, and distinguishing weeds from seed planted seedlings. I believe a pictorial identification guide would be very helpful. If one does not exist perhaps we should start one?

Seedlings can look pretty similar for several weeks and you have to wait until they start to differentiate from each other
