Do any of you Moms have electronic pest repellers in your home? (The ultrasonic waves repellent devices?)?
Just wondering if this is safe to have in the house with Children? I'm very nervous about it- But, it says that humans can't sound hear the sound- Just wondering if you guys have one?
Mystic- What kind of brand do you have? I have a black and decker...also, how old are you children? and how long have you been using it?
I have the rodent ones that plug in but I am going to upgrade to the one that runs through the walls/electrical cables.
I have to say that the ones I have do buzz very quietly though I think that's not the sound that repels the rodents.
Its true that humans can hear sounds up to 16,384 Hz and these device may use sounds as low as 16,000 Hz I don't think that they are really all that loud the maximum these devices claim to emit is "up to" 110 db and that would be with your head inches from it. Toys are allowed to be up to 100db which is about as loud as a motorcycle or lawnmower. Some list a volume of only 25db.
I'm pretty sure my kids would say something if they could hear it.
